Max van der Horst is a cybersecurity researcher and PhD candidate at Delft University of Technology, focusing on improving anti-abuse strategy for hosting infrastructure. His work combines large-scale empirical measurements with policy and governance analysis to improve the security of hosting providers and the broader Internet.
In addition, Max is a volunteer at the Dutch Institute for Vulnerability Disclosure (DIVD), where he has contributed to vulnerability research spanning more than a million vulnerability notifications globally. His research interests include threat intelligence, vulnerability management, and the ethical dimensions of cybersecurity governance.
Prior to joining academia, Max has worked in various roles in the cybersecurity and defence industry related to cyber threat intelligence and cybersecurity R&D.
