Rik Groteboer is a PhD candidate at the Radboud University in Nijmegen, at the interdisciplinary research hub on Digitalization and Society (iHub). Rik’s research focuses on the European legislation on content moderation and platform governance, more specifically, on the formal institutionalisation of ‘trusted flaggers’ and legal aspects surrounding the implementation of rules on ‘trusted flaggers’ in practice.
Rik graduated from the Legal Research master’s programme at the University of Groningen in 2024. Aside from platform regulation, his research interests include intellectual property law, and law at the intersection of technology. Before joining the EGOS-Project, Rik worked at a law firm specialising in intellectual property, privacy and IT law as a paralegal.
